Air Dates: Leave USA  September 8, 2025   Arrive any time into Lisbon on the 9th and take a taxi to Hotel Wine and Books to check in on own.

RETURN end of trip: This date varies depending upon your personal return date. If you are ending tour in Porto, you must arrange your flight accordingly. You will organize your air from Porto back to States on September 18. If you are adding the Madeira extension, you will arrange your air based on your return date. It might be required to fly back to Lisbon to get to your international flight home. Or you may be able to book flight all the way home from Madeira. 

DO NOT book any air until the trip has reached the minimum participant number. We will notify you when this occurs and give the go-ahead.

COST FOR PORTUGAL $3,395 per person double occupancy, $1,298 single. 

COST FOR MADEIRA $1,399 per person double occupancy, $649 single. 

A $700 per person non-refundable deposit per person is due upon sign-up for the Portugal base trip.

A $150 deposit per person in addition to the $700 deposit is required if you are also doing the Madeira extension.

We anticipate that these tours will sell out quickly. If you have decided to join us, please do not hesitate in making this first deposit. Full details of all deposits and dates and payment methods follow.

Small local room taxes: There may be a small local room tax of a euro or two a night per room. It depends on the locale. These are not included and if applicable, will be added to each room’s final bill, payable individually at checkout.

Mimimum trip size: The trip price is based on 25 paying participants. There will be an adjustment on the base prices as per below:

We highly recommend you protect your trip with a Trip Insurance policy.  It protects your trip in case of accident or illness that prevents you going, as well as on-trip incidents such as lost luggage, trip delay, and most importantly medical coverage and evacuation. Room types and upgrade costs

Roommate requests:  Single occupancy adds to the cost of any tour. If you are signing up for this tour, would like a roommate, but upon signup do not have one, we are happy to make note of your willingness to have a roommate and that you would like us to attempt to find a roommate for you. There is no guarantee of success, and you must be willing to pay the single occupancy upgrades should no roommate become available.

Room upgrades: Upgrades available upon request as per below.

Lisbon upgrade to Superior room: $128 per person per night. Suites available upon request. Price to be determined by which suites are available. You will be advised of cost when we are informed, and you decide at that point. Upgrade price same for double or single occupancy.

Douro Valley: No upgrades 

Porto: No upgrades.

Madeira: All rooms included in package are already Superior. Suite upgrade is available upon request at $141 per person per night. This price is same whether double or single occupancy.
