Optional activities:  All lunches and dinner below are optional. However, to expedite things, we will assume you will want these amazing additions to your experience and will add the meals to your tour. Of course, you can opt out. Just email us and you are good to go. But: don’t miss them!.

Optional Costs will be added to final invoice amount.

Day 5, April 11: Under the Tuscan Sun/ Cortona and wine tasting: Everyone is signed up automatically. If you do not want to participate, you must advise before Jan. 21. Otherwise, you are in.  $65

Day 5, April 11: After our day in Assisi…Spectacular typical of region 4-course dinner prepared by our chef at Borgo Marmotta! (see itinerary on trip page for menu) $49

Day 6, April 12: After our day in Assisi, we will arrive straight away to Restaurante Palazzaccio , 3 course dinner (see itinerary on trip page for menu) $45 note: Marmatta kichen is closed this night.

Day 8, April 14: Bike ride with lunch along old railroad bed.  $179

Day 9, April 15: Lunch with wine at Maura’s fav restaurant in Spello.   $39

Dates: Leave USA  April 7* – 18, 2025   NOTE: The dates are for the base trip which includes ONE night in Rome at start of tour and one night in Rome-area at end of tour.  We HIGHLY RECOMMEND you add some pre-trip days/nights and experience Rome as you never have guided to experiences with Deb and Dan you will not have on your own.  We have been to Roma 17 times and it is our favorite city.  We will have a customized itinerary for up to 5 nights for you to enjoy.  So: YOU DEPART DATE will be altered according to how many pre-Rome days you choose to do.  Once you are on board, we will help you determine how many pre-Rome days you would like to do and how that will effect your departure from USA date.

COST: Base price for tour is $2,985.  There are some upgrade choices for our Umbria hotel, including single occupancy. Options are explained below.

We highly recommend you protect your trip with a Trip Insurance policy.  It protects your trip in case of accident or illness that prevents you going, as well as on-trip incidents such as lost luggage, trip delay, and most importantly medical coverage and evacuation. AIR DATA

Fly to Rome FCO, leaving USA on April 7, 2025 and arrive in Rome, Italy on April 8, 2025, for your first hotel night of the tour. If you would like to arrive a day or two earlier to shake off the jet lag and recharge, we can arrange extra hotel night, upon request. Note as previously discussed above, your arrival date will be altered if you are adding on pre-Rome days/nights with our Rome pre-trip…. adjust accordingly. You fly out of Rome at the end of the trip returning to USA or points elsewhere any time on April 18, 2025. The last hotel night of the tour is in the Rome area on April 17, 2025.  

Currency adjustment possibility:  There is a chance the Euro could strengthen between the time of deposit and the time of final payment in January. This is a risk with foreign travel. This could result in a  increase in the final payment amount due.

Small local room taxes: There may be a small local room tax of a euro or two a night per room. It depends on the locale. These are not included and if applicable, will be added to each room’s final bill, payable individually at checkout.

Mimimum trip size: The trip price is based on 25 paying participants. There will be an adjustment on the base price as per below:

24 paying participants: +$30

23  paying participants: +40

22 paying participants:+50

21 paying participants: +60

Room types and upgrade costs

Same sex roommate requests:  Single occupancy  adds to the cost of any tour. If you are signing up for this tour, would like a roommate, but upon signup do not have one, we are happy to make note of your willingness to have a roommate of the same sex and that you would like us to attempt to find a roommate for you. There is no guarantee of success, and you must be willing to pay the single occupancy upgrades should no roommate become available.

Room selection: Note that there are limited numbers of each room type. The sooner you deposit, the better your chances of getting the room type you want. Once the room types sell out, you will have to choose from another category of room.

Room upgrades: Single occupancy upgrades are available at all of the properties used on this tour.  At Borgo Marmotta, there is the possibility of upgrading to suite rooms. Please note that there are only 7 basic rooms avaiilable. Once those are gone, it will require upgrading to a higher-level room. Below are upgrade options and prices. Prices are for ALL nights at each property, NOT per night.

Borgo Marmotta  Classic room:  Double occupancy, no upgrade 

     Single occupancy, $798   

     Superior Room:  Double occupancy, + $298     Single occupancy , + $1,055   

     Suites: Double occupancy, +$469 

 Ostia last night of tour:  Single occupancy, +69

Deposits  

Note: Please make sure to send Morningstar an email so we can have you email address. We will communicate via emails for all details pertaining to your tour.

First deposit: $700 per person due upon sign up. Deposit is non-refundable. Buy trip insurance upon deposit and your trip and your deposited monies will be protected. (see below for link) 

Second deposit of 600 due December 15, 2025.

 Final payment: January 31, 2025

Passports

 Make sure you have one and that it does not expire within 6 months of your departure date.

Cancellation policy: First deposit fully non-refundable.  Cancellation after final payment has been made will result in loss of all unrecoverable funds, to be determined by Morningstar.
